Amy holds a bachelor's degree in Music and a master's degree in Music Education.

During her sixteen years of teaching experience, she has taught piano students of all ages and levels from beginner through early-advanced. In addition to teaching piano, Amy has also taught general music classes on the preschool and elementary levels and directed award-winning elementary and middle school choirs.

She enjoyed serving as a church pianist for several years, providing congregational accompaniment, piano solos, and vocal accompaniment.

Amy is passionate about music education, especially at the earliest levels of learning. Music is a crucial element of a holistic, liberal arts education.  Music education develops a child's mind in ways that serve to enhance and complement academic learning. Whether in a classroom setting or a private lesson, Amy loves seeing her students experience the fun and joy of music while developing their intellect, creativity, and individual talent!
